About
Welcome to Dumpling Generation 面食代 LFP, a culinary gem nestled in Lake Forest Park, Washington. Located at 17171 Bothell Way NE, this eatery stands out in the bustling food court scene with its promise of freshly crafted dumplings and comforting rice bowls.
Upon entering, you're greeted by a warm atmosphere and friendly staff, a perfect backdrop for a delightful meal. The menu, while compact, boasts a range of enticing options that reflect authentic Chinese flavors. Many customers rave about the tender, juicy dumplings that are a testament to the culinary expertise behind this establishment. For instance, Nancy S shares that the dumplings not only cater to gluten-free desires but also deliver on taste, proving that you can enjoy a healthier meal while dining out with friends.
Another highlight is the pork dumplings, mentioned by Kelly Jenkins, who finds the flavor reminiscent of traditional recipes. However, some feedback suggests that the method of serving on open plates can lead to a slight drying out, which detracts from the overall experience. Despite this, the dumplings' flavor and the friendliness of the staff keep customers coming back for more.
For those who also appreciate a well-prepared rice bowl, the beef rice bowl has received positive nods. Andrew Lee noted that the stewed beef was satisfying, infused with robust Chinese spices, although he expressed a wish for jasmine rice instead of short grain. This diversity in the menu allows guests to explore different tastes, making each visit an opportunity for culinary discovery.
Don't overlook the bubble tea, a favorite among many patrons. Its rich flavor adds a delightful finish to any meal. With glowing reviews from satisfied customers like Richie Magpayo, who praised the fork-tender pork and perfectly steamed broccoli, Dumpling Generation promises quality that feels both inviting and comforting. The overall sentiment echoes a sense of community and shared joy in good food.
In a nutshell, Dumpling Generation 面食代 LFP serves as a reminder that great food doesn’t have to be complicated. With a focus on quality ingredients and traditional techniques, this eatery is not just a place to grab a bite but a corner to savor and enjoy.
“ I haven't had their dumplings yet, but a friend brought me their zhajiangmian and it is excellent. The noodles are thick, chewy, and plentiful. The sauce seems to be the Chinese style (which, in my experience, means a bit more douchi flavor, notably saltier, and a bit less sweet), and there was enough to evenly coat every noodle. The pork, which sometimes gets lost at the bottom of the bowl, was minced finely enough to distribute throughout the noodles as you eat. I've been chasing this flavor for years, and I will definitely be back for more. ”
“ It's rare I can enjoy something lower carb or gluten free (unofficially) and also tasty when out with friends. I love that dumpling generation has their bowls and oh my gosh is the meat tender and full of flavor. The folks are always nice and the bubble tea is great! ”
“ I’m really glad they opened a Dumpling Generation in the Lake Forest Park Town Center. I haven’t been to the original location in Edmonds, but was told by the friendly and peppy cashier that the Edmonds location has a much bigger selection. The selection is somewhat limited, but it’s probably about the right amount for a food court. They offer the chicken dumplings as well as rice bowls and bubble tea. I ended up splitting the chicken dumplings and the beef rice bowl. The beef rice bowl was pretty good – the stewed beef had a good Chinese braised spiced beef flavor. I was a bit disappointed they used short grain rice though and would prefer jasmine rice. The dumplings were the highlight and it makes sense the place has dumpling in the name. The filling had a lot of chicken flavor with slight sweetness and the dumpling wrapper was cooked perfectly. My main constructive comment would be to serve the food on a different type of compostable container or maybe melamine plates. The issue was that the dumpling wrappers and the rice would stick to the containers and when taking the food off there sometimes was paper residue on the food. With all that being said I would definitely return because with all due respect to the other vendors, Dumpling Generation is the most interesting vendor in the food court. ”
“ The egg dumplings and the pork dumplings were great. Only issue…They’re served on an open plate with paper so they dry out quickly. They also tear easily due to drying to the paper so you lose half of not all the soup. Staff was friendly. Not a fan of the noddles but that’s just my pallet. Would eat dumplings here again, for sure. ”
“ Happy to have good Chinese food so close (had to drive to the International District or Shoreline to get my fix). Ordered the pork rice bowl and chicken dumplings - both dishes were good. The pork meat was fork tender, the sauce mild (usually too sweet or too salty in some restaurants), the broccoli beautifully steamed. The chicken dumplings were flavorful. I love that their menu is limited and it looks like each item is freshly made and good quality. There's a bit of a wait which is typical for food like this. This is now a new favorite. Highly recommend to everyone to try it! ”
